New Year Message

“Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:13-14)

Revellers at New Year's Eve countdown festivities at Marina Bay and Orchard Road were excited as they ushered in a new year. Indeed, the end of one year and the dawning of a new one provide an excellent opportunity to wipe the slate clean and make a fresh start. Regardless of successes and failures, we can let go of the past and move ahead with assurance because Jesus provides hope and forgiveness. Remembering God's faithfulness and forgetting past mistakes will make entering the New Year a time of joyous anticipation. Yes, let us leave the sins and failures of this past year behind us and press on to higher ground. As we set goals for our personal life, family, work and ministry, let us continue to focus on the Lord and trust that 2008 will be a wonderful year. Praise the Lord!
