Verse of the month

Verse of the month

“But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” - Matthew 6:20-21

The recent global economic crisis has shaken the whole world. No one would imagine that the seemingly stable financial institutions will collaspe with millions of investors losing millions of dollars. This economic turmoil is expected to last for sometime and affect rich and poor alike globally. In His sermon on the mount, Jesus exhorted the multitudes that they are not to lay up treasures on earth, but to lay up treasures in heaven. While it is practical to invest for our future, it is more important to invest into eternity. Things which can last forever are the souls of men, word of God, relationship with God and doing good works. Let us set our hearts on things which are eternal, and not temporal. Let us devote our time and efforts in heavenly investments so that we can reap spiritual dividends when we meet the Lord in heaven.
